Liesegang Sandstone

Liesegang rings are colored bands of cement laid down in sedimentary rocks, forming beautiful concentric formations. They may be formed due to a chemical segregation of minerals as they interact with reactive substances such as oxygen or iron. The result can be exceptionally beautiful.
