Complex Friend Ranch Thunderegg

From the Friend Ranch in eastern Oregon, northeast of the city of Madras.

This is quite exceptional - still one of the most amazing Friend Ranch eggs I have ever seen. It is a remarkable and extremely complex thunderegg that reminds me of a volcanic spring filled with bacterial growth. The agate portion of this half has beautiful clear agate revealing the inner structure of the matrix as though through clear water, filled with floating wafts of cloud and crystal. The whole thing is built on a fine yellow mineral layer that shows up the inner structure beautifully. Note the prowling black cat frozen forever in this stone's crystalline heart. I don't usually see 'images in the rocks' very well - but in this case . . .

Size: 2 1/2"w x 2 3/4"h x 1"d. Weight: 6 oz.
